***HOLY GRAIL OF EARLY MATCHBOX LESNEY VEHICLES. THIS IS NOT A CUSTOM OR RESTORED PIECE*** Ok so this is the REAL DEAL green cab early release Matchbox Lesney BP Dodge Wrecker straight form the original owner!!! A true one owner “attic” fond of sorts. Years ago a fellow colleague mentioned that he had his old Matchbox collection form his childhood he was looking to sell. I had asked him to bring them in and I’d take a look for Jim’s well things got busy and that never happened and a year or so later the gentleman retired. Fast forward another year and his collection came back around at a small local auction. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the photos of this one green cab wrecker. “No way” I thought to myself. I ended up acquiring the case of cars sight unseen. When I received I did EXTENSIVE research to verify its authenticity.1. Silver sprayed grill and headlight ? 2. BP water transfer decals ?3. Early production gray tow hook. It is missing. Included is an early production minty yellow cab/green body with gray tow hook. I purchased this to remove the hook but I will leave that up to the new owner to decide on. 4. Narrower crane jib ?5. I also read somewhere that these early versions appear to have some writing on the tires. This does indeed have such writing, although I can’t make out what it says.This piece has not been altered or restored in any way. It’s lived it’s ENTIRE life on an island just off the coast of Maine. RARE RARE RARE.Also include is a nice clean box, although it is not “original” to this particular truck, it is an original correct colored box (not a repro or reprinted one). I cannot say enough about the rarity of this piece, although it’s likely whomever is reading this already knows that. It has been loved and played with. Far from a mint example with many wear marks and scratches, it still retains a fantastic look. These rarely come available Please consult photos to judge condition for yourself.
